An autopsy performed Thursday revealed the woman’s gender, which could not initially be determined from the remains. Investigators say she was about five feet two inches tall, 100 pounds with brown hair.

Police are reviewing missing persons reports in an effort to determine her identity. Contrary to some media reports, the body had not been dismembered and was not badly decomposed, according to police.

It’s not clear how long it had been there, they said.
