There has been no sign of Albert or Rita since the search began April 1 2011. It is like they just disappeared off the face of the earth! Friends and family of the couple are worried and frustrated.
The Oregon State Police have scaled back the search for Albert and Rita but will continue to watch for signs of the couple or their van on the regular patrols of the area.
The Chretien’s are a very well-known, well like couple of Penticton BC and many family members as well as friends and acquaintances have also been searching the route that is suspected the couple drove. Of course there is no way to know which direction the couple decided to take, which is making the search that much more challenging. The search has covered over 3000 miles of road and several pilots have flown over the Burnt River and Snake River searching for evidence that the Van veered off the road and ended up in the river. Police say that at this point there is no reason to suspect foul play. The family knows that if Al or Rita had a way of communicating they would have done so. Thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the Chretiens………
