With the announcement of more group homes closing in BC it is just a matter of time before disaster strikes. Currently the residents of these group homes have around the clock care. With the closure of the latest group homes, one in Langley and the other in Richmond, the care will be much less. The residents will be moved into home sharing arrangements, which are much cheaper to operate but with much less attention to the residents. Last year there were 40 care homes shut down. Currently we already have a huge problem of people going missing in BC and it is only going to get worse with the closure of group homes. I hope my prediction is wrong!
