Jonathon and Rachel, both from Vancouver, BC,  went missing September 6, 2010 while on a two-day hike in Pemberton BC . The couple are experienced hikers and had enough equipment and food for three days. A search for the couple by commercial helicopter, an RCMP helicopter, a ground search team, a police dog/handler team and Whistler Search and Rescue found no clues of the missing couple  Their vehicle was located on the Spetch Creek Forest Service Road.

A year later the families of Jonathon and Rachel hired a group of highly experienced mountain guides to search for any evidence of the couple. According to mountain guide “It’s pretty much the worst that B.C. has to offer in terms of dangerous terrain.” There was no evidence found explain the couple’s disappearance.

It will be almost two years now since the couple went missing and the family has been advised the investigator in charge of the missing persons file will be going back to the area where the car was found. An RCMP climbing team will be asked to search in the dangerous areas. As well The Search and Rescue of Pemberton will search again when the snow has melted. The family is desperately hoping for answers to the disappearance of Jonathon and Rachel.
