An elementary girl was walking home from school alone when someone in a car called out to her. A man voice said, “Get in the car.”  The girl ignored the request and eventually the driver drove away. The Penticton RCMP were called but the girl was unable to give a description of the man or the vehicle as she did not look at him at all and just kept her head down as she walked. The South Okanagan School District has issued a district wide alert advising that somebody tried to lure this young girl into their car.

A 13-year-old girl was walking home from school in Kelowna BC yesterday when she  heard a man voice behind her say, “I’m going to get you.” This must have been horrifying for this young teen! The girl began running away and the man chased her while she ran through an apartment complex and then through a parking lot in the Mission area of Kelowna. Luckily the girl was able to escape from this man and was able to describe the man to the RCMP. The description of this creep is between 25-27 years old, 5’11” with an athletic build, black spiked hair and facial stubble. At the time of the chase he was wearing a green toque, black jacket and dark jeans.

October 2011, a 17-year-old girl was walking along the Greenway in Kelowna BC when she was grabbed by a man who tried to force her off the path. Luckily this young woman had a can of pepper spray which she sprayed in the attackers face and was able to escape. The girl ran to the Orchard Park Mall where she called the RCMP. Her description of this creep was 5’10” – 5’11”, tall, athletic build, with short brown hair. The suspect was wearing a black, hooded Adidas jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, gloves, black running tights with a hole in the right leg and white running shoes

With the recent murder of a 18-year-old girl,  Taylor Van Diest of Armstrong BC on Halloween night these stories very disturbing. Of course we don’t know if this is any connection……

A young boy was walking home from school when a red pickup pulled up and offered him a ride. The boy described the man as looking like Santa Claus. This is the same description of a man who tried to force a woman into his car last winter. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/story/2011/04/02/bc-kamloops-attempted-abduction.html?ref=rssThe boy kept away from the truck and phoned his mother and the man sped off.

Police have said “”We also investigated a number of complaints during the last school year, and again at the beginning of this year, when similar types of overtures were made by a man who was reported to have roughly the same type of physical descriptors and in particular, the issue of this white ‘Santa beard’ keeps resurfacing,” How scary is that? All teachers and principals in Kamloops have been notified of the incidents and the police have asked them to review the “stranger danger” rule.

Two young teen girls were walking near Fairford school in Nanaimo BC and observed a small red car with two men driving back and forth looking at the girls. The car stopped and both men got out and each grabbed a girl. The girls fought back and were able to get away. Both girls received some injuries but did not require any hospitalization. Wow! Really? How is this not bigger news?

A woman was stalked while she was jogging in Nanaimo BC. but although she reported it to the RCMP it was not made public until she went to the media. There have been several similar cases in the Nanaimo area but the police say they are not related….but they will investigate if there are any similarities in the cases…Huh? http://www2.canada.com/nanaimodailynews/news/story.html?id=12d353ac-84cd-49bc-a14e-ed5a31c5ca8e
